To be honest it's the relentless hype that turns me off these days. When it was first relaunched I watched and was very impressed. Then it seemed as though every single aspect was so over-exposed I was tired before each actual episode reached the screen. That and the strange blokeish clique who take it SO seriously in a silly proprietorial way and I feel compelled to avoid it. |

Funny, but Who was always made by the BBC Drama department, and never from BBC Childrens. It's a family show, not a kids show and never has been intended as such! |

It became a kids show, but when it was first created it was aimed at an adult audience with more Sci_Fi than action. When kids discovered it and liked it the BBC then decided to target the younger audience more, which was when the show began to lose it's way. |

8.4 million viewers - described as a "huge hit"... not quite as much as Britain's Got X Factor which has been known to get 9 million. Twenty five years ago I got an extraordinary 9.7 million viewers on BBC2 with Entertainment USA. Funny old world.
Yes, Pru, Dr Who was a kiddies show (which I never liked) in the old days. RTD's genius turned it into a terrific mass appeal, intelligent entertainment. I suspect Moffat will revert it to great kiddies TV. |

Is it really much more than a wildly over-hyped kiddies' show? |
