veritas connected but off-topic:

John Walsh the host of America's Most Wanted and the man behind so much 'pedo hysteria' and the sex offenders register with the Adam Walsh Act' (Megan's Law etc") has reversed his opinion and now says these registers should be scrapped with only the very hard core of proven dangerous repeaters registered.

He estimates this at about 20,00, as oposed to the 700,000 curently on these lists.

Perhaps 'pedos behind evey bush' has reached it's zenith and on the wane.
JC I remember two elections ago UKIP had a policy to restore the burden of proof where someone was accused of a sex crime. I caught an interview on a TV show where the UKIP representative was talking about wanting to bring balance back into the court process and restore justice. I liked what I was hearing, but the media didn't seem to think it was a good idea and it seems that UKIP later decided it was not a vote winner and they adopted the more popular but flawed "let's build more prisons" policy.

It's good that the Tories have made this gesture. It is a start but I hope they'll realise that it only scratches the surface of the problem.
JK2006 I only wish people would start realizing the extent of false allegations - far worse than just against teachers.
Someone has to do something but the stoopid, simplistic punters, encouraged by the stoopid tabloid editors and meejah folk who know the way to ratings and circulation is KEEP IT SIMPLE and GIVE THEM A GOOD STORY prefer to encourage the false accusers - with as gory and dramatic tale as possible, preferably including tears. On camera.

Doh!

Let's hold the TORIES to this promise.

It is about time that those who make false allegations suffer the consequences of their lies.

The damage done to Teachers especially has been so great that there is a massive shortage of male teachers in Primary Schools which will only get worse unless the balance is redressed.

A fine should be for the first false accusation leading to a Prison Sentence for repeated allegations or multiple allegations.

The CHAV CLASS of the UK uses FALSE ALLEGATIONS as cover for their own criminal activity and it is time for this to be stopped.

Good to see THE TORIES are the only PARTY with any policy aim in this area.
