JK, every vote can make a difference !

I urge EVERYONE to vote tomorrow (I'll leave the actual choice to you - but I'd prefer it wasn't red or blue !)

I was speaking to a Duke (yes, a real one !) a couple of weeks ago and he told me that he had been reading one of his ancestors' old diaries which mentioned an election.

In those days only the landed gentry had a vote, so, come election time they all met up at a local hostelry (as there were only about a doxen in the entire county) and "carved-up" the result between them.

Anyone who doesn't vote tomorrow should sign a declaration forfeiting the right to complain or criticise for the entire next Parliament.

Our ancestors fought for it ... we should use it.
JK2006 Way, way back Westminster was Labour, held by very Red Arthur Latham.
The young Tory hopeful John Wheeler came to ask for my support. I liked him (a very liberal ex prison Governor). I hosted three discos at Porchester Halls for him. He said each one gained him 50 votes - 150 in all. He won by about 40 votes! Since then it's been solidly Tory. Now, with boundary changes, Westminster NORTH is technically Labour but only needs a 6% swing to go Lib Dem. So I'm a crucial voter and can make a difference!
