I don't remember a Bowie song called "Five Years". I'll have a search for it later.
btw it was nice to see (and hear) Jeff Beck on BBC Breakfast. (Nothing to do with Five Years at all.)

Locked Out. If you GOOGLE the song and read Wiki etc and watch the video of the interview BOWIE gave at the time this is the gist.
BOWIE's father had a vision where he saw planes fall out of the sky in an apocolyptic future. He told David not to fly. This was in 72 - you are right.
I believe that the visions in early 72 ( Of which I had one as well I might add ) were a warning about NOW and I believe we are in the FIVE YEAR PERIOD now.
Bowie wont speak about this. However, it is telling that he is NOT touring anymore - and living 99% of the time in the USA.........he seems to have stopped regular flying. Of course he is not going to say anything ( look at the ridicule I get for mentioning it !!!) but look at his actions - they speak louder than any words.
I have no idea what this is all about - all I know is that it is true......I could go into much more detail but ask questions and I will do my best to answer them.
Much of what I write is tongue in cheek I admit - but this 5 YEARS thing I am deadly serious about and have spent much of the last year warning people about what is coming ( just in case ). I can assure you everyone whom I have explained this to in person has taken the warning seriously....I do hope I am wrong ......
Enjoy the MASCOTS for 2012 ( ZION is the logo ) and the MASCOST have the ALL SEEING CAMERA EYE and look like.....er....aliens......what a suprise and co-incidence.

I must admit I think of Bowie's 'The Laughing Gnome' whenever I see Alan Duncan on the telly. If he actually said 'Ha-ha-he' every now and again I think he'd be even more popular than he currently is. I hope this helps.

I have to confess I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. What I do know is that there are no references to "planes" {or "aeroplanes", "airplanes", "kites", "crates", "stringbags" or "volcanic ash filled deathtraps"} in the song at all. Are you sure that you haven't misheard "five years left to cry in" as "five years left to fly in"? Given Bowie's intake of narcotics at the time I'd suggest, whatever you believe he meant by that line {if indeed he'd used it, which he didn't}, could very easily not be anything at all to do with Heathrow. Or maybe you are hinting that Mr Jones was involved in a little carpentry around the studio while recording the track? Neither is there a reference to "Mothers going off their heads". Only "Mothers sighing". Incidentally, it may have escaped your notice, but mothers have been doing both quite a lot since time began.
There is a reference to "a girl my age" {Bowie himself was a father at this time and it may be construed that a "girl his age" may well have been a "mother", but nowhere in the song is this made explicit} going "off her head" and belabouring "some tiny children". However this cannot really be seen as a harbinger of anything. My sister used to beat me silly when I was "tiny". And, believe me, that was much more than five years ago.
May I ask what it is that you take that compells you to write this stuff?

I carry out that function on the internet
Seriously - I AM THE PROPHET ( only joking ! )
BOWIE - DOCTOR WHO - ICKE etc.
They are all here at this time to help us.
I am convinced that we are all here for a reason or two. When you consider how big the UNIVERSE actually is - it shows us in a new light. Heaven for every person in history could fit quite happily into one very small corner. Just because Earth is so small it does not mean our lives are small and insignificant.
The fact that we can feel things and discuss on here is quite incredible.
If we could get Rick Wakeman to tinkle the synth and little Jon Anderson to warble we could turn the above into a new Yes song. Not that we'd want one of those, of course, but that's where I can see it all going.
