Prunella Minge I'm very sceptical of his supposed approach to writing and improvisation. I know the actors love it, and love talking about how much they love it, but much of it sounds tosh to me. And if some of the characterisations in Topsy-Turvy were due to this method then give me a conventional script every time. But I do find some of the movies very watchable, and Alison Steadman is always absolutely brilliant.
JK2006 Fingers crossed for the Palme D'Or tomorrow; Mike Leigh's actors on the news talking today; he really is responsible for the best British actors today going back to Jim Broadbent, Tim Spall, Alison (ex wife), Imelda...

Genius.
david I love Mike Leigh- Secrets and Lies, Career Girls, Naked...

brilliant.
JK2006 My favourite director and a big buzz for his latest at Cannes.
