veritas Yes an excellent piece BR and it's written by a QC rather than a journalist.

He wouldn't have had the time to go into a really deep investigation of how the stablemate of the Times. The Sun and all it's fellow tabloid travelers have fuelled the public's appetite for sex tales and the younger (Alfie ?) the better.

He does ask one very serious question about why have we become like this.

It reminds me again of Naom Chomsky who says the USA is now ripe-having been fueled by a repetitive and irresponsible media (where once the USA had what could be claimed to have been the best and most informed media in the world)..for a charismatic leader to take the USA into fully fledged fascism.

Excellent piece/Agree completely. The campaign to change the way our JUSTICE system treats children is gaining pace amongst the media. This is the "reaction" to the realisation that things have gone too far the wrong way under New Labour.
