Topic History of: Marcel Desailly's reaction to Ghana's goal

robbiex On Itv's coverage of the Ghana v Serbia game, they showed Marcel Desailly's reaction to the goal, which I found quite patronising and offensive. Marcel described how hundreds of people will be gathered around a tiny tv, with goats and chickens running around. I found this quite condescending coming from a multi-millionnaire footballer who was born in Ghana of ghanian origin, but chose to play for France.

It sterotypes Africans as been poverty stricken and behind the times, if a white man had said these words his tv career would be in serious trouble (ala Ron Atkinson). I feel ITV should have not showed this reaction and should issue an apology. It was the second cock-up by itv, this world cup after their hd coverage went to the adverts during England's goal.
