Whoops - a stinker of a red card decision by the ref in the Germany v Serbia match - exactly what happens when you give a yellow card for an innocuous challenge and then have to produce another soon after. Far too fussy. |

Quite. There are some irritatingly pompous ones (Graham Poll in the past, and now Howard Webb irks me a bit - he seems to enjoy the limelight a wee bit too much) but in general they have a ghastly job. I always laugh when players run the ball into touch and then put their hand up asking for a throw in - even with all the cameras around they're like little kids!  |

I gasped the words "red card"!
Yes, it was madness, but the Greece player only collapsed in a heap after he realised it would prompt the red card. A bit cynical, that, but the foul was truly idiotic. |
