jim Thanks BR,

You have not shown why we should trust them any less than our own.

Our own cannot, of course, be trusted 100%. Google "appalling vista" and "lord Denning" and see what that gets you. Remember the Birmingham six and the Guildford four?

It is, in any case, quite unreasonable to expect any court system to be 100% perfect.

But why travel to a country in the first place if you are not willing to submit to its administration of legal justice. No one forces you to go there. That was my point.

Meanwhile, just today, a Libyan was ordered back to Libya to face almost certain torture at the hands of Gadafi, a regular grade oil producing tyrant friend of ours responsible for the massacre of 1200 prisoners in Abu Salim in 1996. That doesn't seem to bother you at all.

Your whole position is insidiously racist. Everything is Johnny Foreigner's fault. We English are superior in every way. Will you be sending out to rescue the Greeks from the tyranny of their own court system next? Perhaps they need liberating into our superior form of justice.

Best Wishes,
Jim
BR Thanks Jim.

That was the point of my orginal post - can we trust the Greek courts ? If we cant trust them 100% then we should not extradite.
Jim Thanks BR, you ask:

"are you sure these 5 men are the men responsible for the beating ?"

Like you, I am not sure. I'm happy to leave it to the courts.

Best Wishes,
Jim
BR Jim - are you sure these 5 men are the men responsible for the beating ? and not some local anti English gang ?

I think that it is easy to condemn people - and that is why it is important that our courts actually dont extradite people. You have already made your mind up about this incident based on one article....what chance of justice do these guys have when people make up their mind so easily.

I have no idea whether they are innocent or guilty - but in line with UK principles of "Innocent UNTIL proven ( And I mean Proven ) guilty" I give them that benefit of the doubt.

Your comments show that we are all brainwashed into condemnation without thinking about the real facts........
Jim Thanks BR, from the article:

"Mr Hughes, who also played for Fulham youth team, Sutton United, Croydon Athletic, Bromley and has since played for Welling, was left in a coma after being kicked, stamped on and hit with a bottle."

So we go to other countries, beat people to within inches of their lives and then get bent out of shape when those countries propose to constrain us as equals in accordance with their laws.

Yes. That sounds about right: a fairly typical British attitude.

Best Wishes,
Jim
