robbiex JK, why did you admire Ivan Lendl so much, apart from the fact that you interviewed him at an early stage of his career. He seemed to turn up for the final of wimbledon every year, always lost and never seemed to raise a smile.
JK2006 But, Robbie, I first became aware of my all time fave Ival Lendl when he won the Juniors, interviewed him on my New York radio show (all the ladies in the office swooned - as did a certain host) and supported him throughout his career. Sadly, the one title he never won was Wimbledon Men's Singles. I then backed Goran who did win, in possibly the greatest thriller ever.
Blackit Success at junior level doesn't always convert to success at senior level, remember Annabel Croft won Junior Wimbledon in 1981 and Laura Robson did the same 2 years ago with little evidence of making any inroads into the senior circuit.

That's a bit unfair on Laura Robson - I don't think she is even on the tour full time yet is she?

But your point is correct. We've always had high ranked juniors and yet they rarely even get into the top 100 as seniors.

JK2006 Yeah like "British" Greg Rusedski!
