JK2006 Nine years ago my trial began at the Old Bailey.
After the first day we returned to my barrister's office and on the TV were the unfolding scenes from New York.
I gasped to my QC "How on earth can my trial go on whilst this is happening?" to which he chuckled and answered "British justice is not affected by minor global events".
