His movies really brightend up my childhood On The Beat and Early Bird are his best work.
I read his Autobiography about 5 years ago simple, easy to read and intresting liked him more when my Uncle went out with his neice a few years back she is a Police Pyscrasit.
Think he also went to a posh resturant with Norman.
RIP Norman.1

He was a brilliant craftsman when it came to physical comedy. As a person I always found him - from a distance - a great puzzle. He could tell the same harrowing story about living on the street as a kid, with his voice quivering in exactly the same places, time and time again in interviews. I wonder if he had a real self off stage at all. His last years sounded very sad, but he had a remarkable life.

Wonderful talent, and at his age it was only a matter of time:(
Never found him remotely funny. Awful films in which there was always a tall posh man who found his behaviour offensive. Perhaps works of genius forewarning the working classes about the tories. RIP but I wasn't a big fan. Suits too small, caps on the wrong way round and falling over don't work for me. I suppose the nearest thing we have to him in 2010 is Robbie Williams. Sorry Norman.
