I absolutely agree with you Pru but funnily enough the exception that proves the rule was on today - a wonderful, articulate Mancunian (I love the city) who gave real insight to being a part of it, on the fringe; and they let him chatter on; he was superb, painting the first real picture in a totally genuine fashion.

I'm not even sure it is. At least not always. Sometimes there's quite intelligent repetition. But it's still repetition. There's just something aimless about it all. The presenters and reporters seem like lonely people who are thinking 'Please don't leave me' whenever they talk to anyone.

They're like incredibly dull and over-long versions of 'Rashomon' these days, aren't they? 'I saw the gas explosion from the window of number 23 - it was very loud'. Okay. 'I saw it from the garden of number 19 - it was even louder'. Er, thanks for that. 'I saw it on TV - your channel, of course!' And so on and so forth. What's the point?
