I wish there was at least enough political education in this country to stop all of this 'shock' about a party changing its position on certain issues once it gets into power. What on earth do people expect? There is no way a party can be sure what it can and can't actually do until it's in power and has full access to the relevant papers and briefings. That's how it works. Be disappointed if a u-turn happens, fine, but don't be shocked. All of these LibDems scuttling around talking about 'lies' and 'betrayals' ought to read a bit about politics. It's like a company, planning a takeover, going through due diligence and then altering its views on the prospects - that's not 'betrayal,' it's a revision of opinion after access to more of the relevant facts. The standard of political analysis in this country is absolutely woeful!

You always get sense from Prunella !

You - and the loony Labour Party's mouthpiece - have said this because you want it to be so.

I see no evidence of this at all !
Everyone I speak to says the Coalition is doing a good job under very difficult circumstances.

John Major even wants the parties to fight the next election jointly !

The loony Labour Party (and its mouthpiece) are terrified that all the debts will be cleared by the next election and this country will (alone in Europe?) be on the mend.

Why would ANYONE with a brain cell want to vote for the party that got us into this mess?

you are speaking to the wrong people

I certainly wouldn't vote for Nu Labour and most politicians lie as they sell out as soon as they are elected.

no-it's not too early. The cuts will be a disaster as they have been everywhere else that does the same short time reactionary 'tough' measures. Don't work, cost more to implement than saved..kills of jobs.

Yes I am incorrect about 'first time' even when I think back in my time...but it just shows the common thinking that infects the media that a government automatically gets a second term when it is in fact volatile times.

Why would anyone vote for a party that says one thing and does the opposite in power as the Tories have done ?

I am correct-the Lib Dems committed hari kari by joining the Tories.

As for Fallon- what a dickhead. Of course Labour sucked up to Murdoch etc whereas he and the Tories have so brown-nosed him it's an embarrassment.

And they too will find when you sup with the devil. like Nu Labour you pay a price.

What do you mean, anyway, 'for the first time'?? There have been plenty of one-term governments in the past.

He's Labour, Prunella - you know the truth and Labour have never got on well together !
Prunella Minge And I've said several times it's far too early to tell. (What do you mean, anyway, 'for the first time'?? There have been plenty of one-term governments in the past.)
