I agree with the views above.
How it can be argued that the lad was harmed, when he obviously had a bloody great time and told everyone so on facebook, I don't know.
A three year prison sentence is absurd in itself for this, but the male/female disparity is clear. A few weeks ago, I posted a link to a story where a group of men had been sent to prison for an average of about four years for TALKING ABOUT underage sex, with one man posing as a teenage girl: no actual children involved at all.
Then someone else posted a link about a chap sent to prison for 10 years for consensual sex with a handful of 15 year old girls when he was 18.
Consider how nasty an assault would have to be to get a prison sentence of three years, and consider also what sort of crimes attract 10 year stretches: manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving etc.
Loopy.

It would seem that the Police condone women paedophiles given the fact that they only gave the woman in question a verbal warning in the first instance, Imagine if it had been a man and a non virgin 14 year old consenting girl. It seems that you can only be a paedophile if your a man, I think in reality a significant proportion of offending paedophiles are actually women but it gets brushed under the carpet. I think peoples double standard gender specific views on the subject raised by this case are disgusting.

Yes, you can ! ..... This is Britain !
We (not so very long ago) had a law where you could get Life Imprisonment for gay sex (at ANY age !)

Have you read the comments on the article ? If this had been a 26 year old man sleeping with a CONSENTING 14 year old girl people would have been calling for life imprisonment or the death sentence. If this had been a man the article would have started with a paedophile headline. You cant have one law for men and another for women.

Haven't I read recently that the UK police investigated this case but did not find enough evidence to charge.
Perhaps they were investigating murder when they should have (initially at least) been investigating neglect ?
