veritas It does sound like a trawling case with a preferred outcome.

I'm not sure how one adult can seduce another "vunerable" adult into sexual encounter even if drugs are involved and it be illegal.

Even if it is a copper.

To the appeals court I think.
SJB It was just mutually supporting witness evidence, I believe, rather like the trial of our host.

If you'll excuse me quoting mysel from an earlier thread...

All these attacks in police stations covered in CCTV and no mention of any witnesses or footage? Allegations of him passing on heroin, but no supporting forensic evidence, nor any mention of where he might have procured it? The tape he made of his superior threatening to keep digging until something was found? Note also that he was found guilty of relatively few of the sex attack charges, indicating that evidence relating to other alleged attacks was unreliable or insufficient.

It looks like a classic trawling case, with no corroborating evidence at all, and a glaring lack of evidence that SHOULD exist if the allegations were true.
Chris Retro Any idea what "proof" was presented to the courts for these offences?
SJB This case seemed highly dubious to me. I hope the chap appeals successfully.
