veritas this corporate speech is a device for saying nothing.
JK2006 Absolutely - and "the people have spoken; listen to the people" - well, I listened to the people looting, robbing and setting fire to a shopping mall; burning down the houses of wealthy Tunisians - excuse me dim media; there's a big percentage of "the people" who should not be listened to under any circumstances.

Most "People" (including me) have one ruling law - I'm Alright Jack!

And of course the vital ruling law of media...

"Is it A GOOD STORY?"
Locked Out My own personal favourite...
"two parties coming together and working together in the national interest".
If the "national interest" was truly the real reason for this partnership surely there wouldn't have been the need for all those delicate little negotiations beforehand.
I'm sort of in favour of the coalition. But I don't need this web of spin and half-truth, thanks.
JK2006 Don't you love the news coverage of major stories? "Situation is changing by the minute" - doesn't every situation? "Our prime concern is the well being of British citizens" - really - even more important than what to have for lunch? How kind. "Our thoughts are with..." no they are not; your thoughts are with how your personal position will be affected by this statement.

Civilisation will end in a suffocating barrage of cliches and truisms.
