JK2006 Yes - that character was in the original too and a very clever invention; I do like these little extras - in The Killing the relationship between the two detectives is excellent; both have faults - the lady ate the man's bananas this week, for no good reason.
barnthebarn Not a huge western fan but this was pretty good. Jeff Bridges truly mumbled his way through the whole thing (akin to the actor Sam Elliott and sometimes difficult to understand). Many funny moments and Hailee Steinfeld did her role well.

I didn't actually like this character but need to share this terrible joke...there is a guy in the film who talks in animal noises. He was a hoot
andrew Can't see Matt Damon winning a Oscar like John Wayne did and beat Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman for best actor.
barnthebarn Watching the remake tonight, not keen on Matt Damon but we'll see
JK2006 Just rewatched the original on Film 4 with John Wayne (brilliant) and Kim Derby (superb).

Now I'm ready for the remake.
