JK2006 I still cry at the parting between him and Wendy Hiller in A Man For All Seasons - one of the most deeply affecting scenes ever on film.

Mind you I even cry when READING the death of Cordelia!
barnthebarn Paul Scofield was an excellent actor, sadly ignored by The Academy Awards when he passed. 'The Crucible' is one of my favourite films.
JK2006 I was very keen to see Jacobi's King Lear (my favourite play and I love him as an actor) but I forgot to book and now it's finished.

Best Lear I ever saw was Scofield when I was a teenager. I've seen many others highly praised but not as good.
