veritas was always a dodgy and idiotic example of vile politicians pandering to tabloids.

Especially as only few victims speak-means trials are continually unblanced when all trials should be totally free of bias of any sort...the courts should be absolutely free of popular daily opinion.

Latest proposals could create a real headache.

ie: What if someone defrauds a bank or a credit card company. Every customer is a victim..in fact everyone is a victim as costs always go up to cover fraud etc.

They would have the right to make a victim statement. The trial could be clogged for months on end.

Murphy's Law says it will happen.

(eg-everyone who has bought a tabloid produced via illegal phone hacks is a victim !!)
