Angel I fear this is our summer. The UK weather is a nasty beast. Lulling us into believing that a good summer is on the cards then, wham! Pissing down for months. Please let me be wrong.

Too early for Oil Seed Rape, but the dandelions have gone mad in the last week or so. All the fields around us are full of baby lambs with their mothers. To get home, I drive over two cattle grids, and the road goes through open fields. On a warm day the lambs all lie down and sunbathe on the lane.

April has been a lovely month. Let’s hope we get more of the same in May.
In The Know ... and this follows the dryest March in 60 years.

I'm a firm believer in balance ... so don't like long dry periods as I think we will get a long wet period to balance things up !

Was it 2 years ago when we had a couple of very good weeks in April, then a wash-out summer?

But I agree on Spring ... my favourite season - everything is bursting into life and the colours are so vivid. The grass is so green and lush - far better than in summer when it has often dried out and looks brownish.

JK2006 and, according to Deniz (82) the finest April since 1949 when I was 4.

It dawned on me that sunshine in the spring in Britain is about as close to Paradise as we can ever get.
