Not sure ... but they DO get promotion !
JK2006 Sadly, in my experience, coppers who know their victims are innocent but just want convictions sleep like babies - the peace of the Devil.
Solihull Exile Read the same piece, and still don't feel happy about this case.
The court of appeal will only act on compelling new evidence,it won't retry a case as such.

We need an independent investigative system for cases like this. The current system is not working.
We also need to examine the testimony of witnesses more. There are just too many incentives for them to lie,and very little chance of punishment if they do.
veritas I remember this case so well because I used to travel through that village to see family.

At the time I believed everything in the media..murder most foul !

Then I began to read the appeals material and it shed a different light on the whole saga. I really have to re-assess so many old cases..I know sooo many innocent people have been banged up.

Now this piece in the Mail :
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1387438...ys-crime-writer.html

I'm confused again as these 2 writers are sensible blokes.

JK is right..those in the media (me) believe everything..more than the punters who read the tabloids.

(do you think those coppers who really know a person is innocent but nethertheless just want a conviction sleep easy at night ?)
