In The Know Oh, God ! Just learnt that we have to endure the "olympic flame" for weeks on end !

Let's hope it does not come a cropper, like when Helen Sharman dropped the torch as she was running to light the dish at the start of the 1991 World Student Games ! (It didn't matter because the dish was gas-fuelled, so they simply switched it on !!!!)

I have the Olympics dates in my diary - was planning to go away for that couple of weeks, but it looks as if the thing is going to last months (maybe time for that trip to New Zealand?)
veritas and of course you cannot pick tickets..you take what you get.

So if you want to see the weighlifting you may end up with watching the syncronised swimming (my choice )

Just as I feared - little or no interest at all in the Olympics 1.8 million apply for tickets ... which means that nearly 60 million didn't !

Its also going to be a nighmare for those that DID apply - as many have applied for numerous tickets assuming that they wont get most of them.

It now looks as if many will get far more tickets than they wanted and will have huge amounts deducted from their accounts next month.

The money is starting to leave people accounts today - and just as I predicted - many people will be thousands in debt with little or no hope of getting rid of unwanted tickets (one guy has applied for £38,000 worth !)

andrew Well if West Ham get it they never fill it if they get relegated and don't even fill Upton Park all the time fuck knows what will happen. Spurs should have had it their idea was great demolish the majority of it and make it a suitable stadium and get rid of the running track.
In The Know London 2012 organisers have revealed that they received applications for more than 20 million tickets from 1.8 million people for the Olympic Games - from news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/london_2012/13209306.stm
