Civilization really hasn't changed much. We still live in a feudal society, it's just more technological advanced then in the past.
But the hayday of this advanced feudalism is indeed over. Eventually we're are going to have to either evolve or perish. |

Err, ... exactly WHEN (prior to last century) were these attributes evident, JK ?
Was it when we were sending 7 year olds up chimneys and down pits (did that come under "decency"?)
Or when we executed people because of their religion (perhaps that was "tolerance"?) |

Well, 6pm has passed and the end of the world hasn't happened here !
Love this comment, though, from the bookies -
"We often take bets on the end of the world and we always allow customers to choose their own odds - after all, we don't have to worry about paying them out," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. |

Saturday just has 3 more hours to go here and we are still alive !
you are right though..60 years after the end of WW2 and the hideous Nazi regime we as a race have become similar.
This time it's global..we are all doomed. |

Except, amidst the hysteria and mocking as we all go on living, I predicted civilization as we know it would end with the last century - and I think it did.
Certainly for me.
Common sense, decency, tolerance, intelligent attitudes to life - all began to be destroyed.
It's a gradual process but I see signs of it every day.
The species has indeed got limited time as the dominant one on the planet.
The decline is plain to see. |
