Topic History of: Nintendo game banned after child porn concerns

veritas I am fascinated by law (it's all we have sometimes) but when a law produces an anomaly it is even more interesting.

Example: viewing child porn is against the law ( and I in no way condone it) but what other law requires certain persons to participate in the illegality when prosecuting it. The police and judges will pontificate by saying that the person in the poron image is 'abused' again every time someone looks at it.

the police, the judge, the jurors, the court usher, the defense attorneys can all ask to see the evidence...in the case of a child porn charge.

Unlike every other single criminal case they can commit the crime..by looking at the porn.

In no other case is the evidence actually the crime !!
Blackit I rarely disagree with you Veritas, and you made a good point there actually. Perhaps the shops that were planning to sell it should be charged with importing child porn or something?

Japanese laws on porn are crazily inconsistant, but as far as I know, that pixelation rule was introduced by General McArthur during the post-war occupation of Japan. Apparently, the Japanese aren't keen to repeal it now that their porn is popular all over the world because at least it hides the fact that Japanese men have small widgets!
veritas didn't think of that Blacklit.

yes Japan still has sex laws that are more in touch with human foibles but they do pixelate private parts in their porn films which is odd.

well spotted...so that means

blacklit + 1

and will Nintendo be investigated for producing 'child porn'?. If not why not ?

can anyone just produce something that can be classified as indecent and be banned and not pay a price ?.

Does that mean some bloke producing porn on his computer and trying to sell it won't be charged ?

or are the laws temporarily suspended for certain people ?

Nintendo are a Japanese company, and thankfully, Japan still hovers on the right side of sanity and doesn't yet have these insane feminist sexual trade union laws.

If Japan is forced to introduce the same laws as in the West (and Western feminist NGOS are trying desperately hard in applying pressure and shaming language in order to make that happen) about 99.9% of Japanese men will be criminilized and face jail. I don't know what effect that will have on the already struggling Japanese economy, birth rate etc, but it should be a boon in terms of introducing progressive aspects of Western culture such as hatred for the old, ferral youth knife culture and so on.
