JK2006 I've gone off Wadders a bit since the BPI were deeply unhelpful in finding a new terrestrial TV home for the Record of the Year show. Leaving my personal involvement aside, an annual TV event just before Christmas put literally millions into the retail tills. For the BPI to be totally unconcerned after ITV dropped it (for a "more credible Album track show" which got 2 million viewers and was scrapped on the spot) in 2006, I found astonishing. The BPI has always been well intentioned but useless (remember they employed me to salvage The Brits after the Sam and Mick fiasco). I was poised to pull in BBC1 or Ch4 but needed solid industry support. I think Wadders found any involvement with a Vile Pervert might be personally damaging to him even if it benefitted the industry hugely. We have not spoken since. I might be wrong and music sales might not have been boosted by an evening of music promotion - even on a smaller channel - but I suspect it was not benefit to the industry that influenced his lack of support. So the C in CBE stands for a different word to this music lover.
dixie Isn't Tony Wadsworth a friend too? Congrats must go to him for his CBE. And, not forgetting Bryan Ferry, who gets a CBE too!
JK2006 And best news of all - my old friend Gary Farrow gets an OBE!
Ronnie Waldman Spookily, he took over from Tommy Trinder, and now he looks like Tommy Trinder. A once-good but testy entertainer who is now an irascible golf addict. He should have retired years ago.
veritas a bit late.

honouring people in their 80s is almost insulting. Age 60s would be more like it.
Certainly in Bruce's case.
