What a clever response. I'm still waiting for your long list of highly principled hacks. JK has managed two dead ones and one live one, which is a help but does not in my book amount to a pantheon. But let's not make this place more hypocritical than it already is: after making sweeping generalisations every day, week, month and year about how awful the police, politicians, judges, lawyers, broadcasters and, well, most other professions are, this sudden desire to claim that the Press - of all things - is full of bona fide moral giants, all listening attentively to that sweet demi-god within, the Impartial Spectator, is, to be very frank, as risible as it is pitiful.
