'The Owl of Minerva only spreads its wings at dusk' - Hegel. It depends which humans you consider. David Hume was pointing out the hubristic tendencies of scientists, and philosophers, back in the early 18th century (and in that sense it's about time that horribly conceited self-publicist Richard Dawkins read a bit of Hume and learnt some humility from a thinker who didn't try to make logic into an 'Us versus Them' schoolyard argument).

We are about to discover the start of the Universe, astrologers tell us.
Impossible. Human minds simply cannot cope with "beginnings".
If a big bang started the Universe, what started the big bang?
Our minds cannot comprehend such things. Just as ants probably cannot understand humans, or elephants know about astronauts.
Delusions of grandeur. Sums up our species perfectly.
