steveimp Thought the film was awful to be honest. Did Streep get lessons on Thatcher elocution from Steve Nallon? The constant 'flash backs' just confused matters and became a complete mess. Anthony Head and Jim Broadbent were very good though.

The worst scene though was right at the beginning with MT going out for some milk. It was just a plot device for later on when she said she knew the prices of butter and therefore was a cynical piece of storytelling, as well as being totally unbelievable (no one would recognise her? where was her security?).

I'm not really a fan of Thatcher, but that could be the years of bias and indoctrination from growing up in a Socialist household.

I agree she is certainly charismatic and I've met her only once..when she snapped at me and I wilted as many a Tory has...but the most charismatic ???

ps: she did have the most extraordinary perfect white skin.
