oh no not the first mistake.

difficult to point to the first mistake but it co-incides with Rupert believing he was all powerful and could do no wrong.

examples : paying to much for the Wall Street Journal....losing half a billion$$ on MySpace...putting the already loss making Times ( and WSJ) behind a paywall.

closing the NoTW and cynically opening the SOS 6 months later and only weeks after a stumbling act while being questioned by MPs..acting as though he was deaf, a bit senile.

What will become increasingly apparent...plans were there at the beginning of the hacking scandal to shut NoTW and simply change the name.

However...what will save him ?....if the SOS is absolutely brilliant.

But...he has lost his power to influence politicians..Rupert should sell up and retire gracefully but he won't.
JK2006 For the moment ITK - and the first mistake, I'd suggest.

Well, we'll find out what the Sun on Sunday looks like very soon. It launches next Sunday!

It will look (surprisingly !) rather like the Sun ... most of the staff are the same, its now a 7 day paper rather than a 6 day one.

This could finish-off several other Sundays completely.

doubt it. The others are doing quite well and if the NoTW didn't do them in..an SOS won't

I dont know where you get your ideas from, veritas- EVERY newspaper has lost sales in the past year.
