I know people who have tickets for the silly event Table Tennis.

Like many others andrew, they probably applied for everything they could ... which puts the 1.9 million so-called "buyers" into perspective doesn't it?

If people were applying for (say) ten tickets each - in the hope of securing one - then the buyers figure can be divided by ten to get the real number who wanted tickets ?

obviously the majority of Brits haven't bought tickets but you could say that about every event !!

again..rubbery figures but typical of Tory type thinking...we would need to know how many people do not watch them on TV and as the rights are sold for an immense sum it would indicate that the games are a success.

You could say there should be no Eurovison or World Cup as the majority do not attend or indeed...any event including West End theatre

my gripe is with the IOC.

and needless to say..I spoke too soon with Camemoron selling off roads
