veritas he is a wonderful eccentric who thinks he is normal.

I loved the time he inspected a factory decades ago and was introduced to the union covenor and said "you would be the man who doesn't wotk then"..

and unionist replied "well you should know about that".

teams of comedy writers couldn't invent such a great character.
JK2006 And the Queen and Philip popped in to a wedding in Manchester. I really do have enormous admiration for this couple; working hard in old age. I don't think we give them as much gratitude as they deserve.

If only we could all be as perfect in every way as he clearly thinks he is. I agree he does a lot of good, and probably saved the monarchy at one stage and certainly - for better or worse - helped modernise it. But I do wish he'd stop treating everyone like they're an idiot. I've seen him 'correct' highly respected experts in their field, and he's been embarrassingly wrong, but on and on he goes. There's room for a bit of well-founded humility - and good manners - even in someone in his position.

..... Do you mean especially someone in his position?

No.
