They have been around for centuries (poison pen letters; malicious gossip) but we've given them a way of access that can be disturbing (not to me - I love winding them up). Mad people who gradually cross the line between strongly held opinions and insanity (and never seem to realise when they become crazy and obsessive). This intelligent piece correctly examines instead of condemning.

Many are quite bright and perceptive but have gone barmy. Truly fascinating area to examine.
