GoldenBallsup JK, er, BIGtime Brit-road cycling was first boosted ca. 1951 by Ur's & ours' Pop Hero Emcee late great Sir James Savile esq, when he was a talented competitor, and then rolling-commentator, on Le Tour De Britain 'Milk' Race.

Sadly overlooked for decades by Biased Brit Corp following elitist Cricket, populist Footie, and Horsey-set nag racing. Until populist ITV began Wrestling also entered into by fierce fighter Sir Jim. Who, in '62 incidentally observed GoldenBallsup on his 10-shift Campagnolo Raleigh-racer in London, KINGsway and typically belted out an encouraging, "Yer've got the right gear there son !"

How's about that there then ? Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm...

Hedda Hopper It's good fun especially on the big screen telly.

A great success..Britain doing what id does so well..spectacle !!

ITK must be disappointed.
JK2006 I'm hooked to the Olympics and all sorts of obscure sports I never thought I'd enjoy.

The cycling races (made for TV of course, and superbly started by Le Wiggo)... diving...

And I do regret not attending the opening ceremony which was wonderful on TV but must have been ten times better in person.
