The accident (reported widely) took place almost exactly 4 years ago - early August 2008.
His fingers are affected on one hand, as well as his arm; however he is on the mend.
au contraire !! it was another accident and I think I'm right as the friend just finished working as an advisor for him.
But there could be a first ie: me be wrong. Unlikely though.
On the subject of Robert Hughes...there is a former Australian soapie star of the same name who has been arrested today in London on 'historic abuse' charges with claims he fiddled with female soap stars.
Oddly, they all sold their tales to a tabloid magazine first.

He's on the mend after four years? Oi, Danny Boyle, get the bouncy NHS beds out again, let's celebrate!

Ernst Gombrich-Batman
A touching tribute, not, to the man behind the Shock of the New series. Well done veritas. What the heck has Morgan Freeman got to do with it?

The art critic Robert Hughes has died in New York.
Probably not that well known in the UK . He was in a shocking car accident about 10 years ago that led to a decline in health and retirement.
Which brings me to Morgan Freeman and something to watch for in the latest Batman film.
A friend who is also close to Freeman tells me he also had a shocking car accident around 10 years ago and is basically paralyzed down one side. If you watch carefully in films you can see they cleverly they film around the fact one arm doesn't move.
