Hedda seems I was wrong (laws are different in various countries):

No law says you have to report a crime to the police or give evidence. But remember, by coming forward you could bring a criminal to justice. You could also stop the same thing happening to others.

You can contact Victim Support, a charity that helps victims and witnesses, or other organisations for advice.

Esther, by not reporting these (alleged) crimes didn't stop 'the same thing happening to others'.

perhaps she contacted her own organisation and she consoled herself.

and most responses are supportive and others point out that Esther Ranzten (and Gambo) basically ignored child abuse..why ?..because of their careers.

I really have a very strange feeling that the wheels are going to come off this charanbanc and many people will have egg on their faces.

Private Eye quite rightly pointed out that Esther Rantzen was having an affair/married to one of the top BBC executives at the time (Wilcox) so surely her excuse about her career being threatened by whistle-blowing was null and void?

But whether she was having an affair or not is basically irrelevant. If she knew (and if it's true) she was part of the cover-up.

Did she say nothing just so she could keep a job?. If so she is guilty of a crime.
Gary I dont understand it, why didnt they accuse jim saville when he was here, hes dead now and he cant defend himself, and i dont think its fair to accuse someone when their dead, I admire you johnathan for trying and trying to clear your name as I belive you are innocent to,
