My experience has been that journalists will suspend reality and desire rumours to be true because of the nature of their job.
I never thought about this until I ran into someone I hadn't seen for years at a party and he asked me if I still did sex performances at parties.
I was perplexed...and after much talk he insisted that I and my then wife used to perform at parties and had sex in front of an audience.
After much talk I realised he was talking about a good friend of mine who did have sex with a girl in a bedroom one night when they were both very drunk and all the partygoers filed in to watch.
But is was firmly fixed in his mind that it was me and no amount of denials could change his mind..indeed the more I denied,..the more he was convinced.
And me !!!..a prude and married to a very shy woman.
But it was a classic example of how information can be transformed into an entirely different reality. |

The clock's ticking and STILL no suggestion that ITV companies hosted any dubious activities during the same era as the BBC. Strange. And to think LWT and other companies used to distribute those naughty Christmas VT compilations, often featuring women in various stages of disrobing, as a bit of a giggle back in the day. Someone should send a few copies to the Daily Mail. |
