lkgreenwell @ContraversialView

"False Rumour" is the major problem of 'life'(sic) in Wandsworth Prison (apparently!)

Many people have ended up seriously injured because of "whispers" that turned out to be completely false

As far as I am aware, there has been no authoritative 'verdict' on the Jimmy Saville phenomenon

Don't be too surprised if it turns out to be mass hysteria, fuelled by "compensation" opporunities
ContraversialView What should be made a serious crime is what Lord McAlpine is now addressing personally.

"Serious Misrepresentation-Libel".

'Twits' and amateur 'Twitters', all picked on the wrong non-suspect there !
JK2006 Even though same gender love was illegal below the age of 21 until 1993, I discovered when accused in 2000 that, if no complaint had been made within twelve months, it was no longer a crime if both parties were over 16.

And of course everyone in entertainment and media turned a blind eye to gay activity - or most of the industry would have been jailed.
lkgreenwell I would just like to register that Mr King's activities were an open secret, and featured as asides in the trade press of the 1970's

I am prepared to testify to this, (on the good book!)

I severely doubt that any crime was involved - statute law is a blunt instrument, and must be permanently reviewed and modified

Best of luck, in this arena
