it was a chronically bad prank..I mean if they were trying to get to William it may have been remotely interesting.
Obviously the poor woman had other problems and this was the tip of the iceberg but people don;t seem to understand how devastating, how humiliating the media is.
They don;t just report the news and an incident- they rip people to shreds. The Mail is doing that right now with the DJs whilst being utterly ignorant of who they are and how it's affected them.
In fact the Daily Mail is an example of what this poor woman possibly thought could happen to her. It was touch and go whether it was she who would be dragged through the mud, churned around, humiliated, insulted, belittled, called a fool and an idiot.
except it's the DJs on the receiving end.
I can imagine a person at their lowest ebb may just top themselves.
Blame out vile nasty repulsive media. And perhaps it is reflecting what we have become.

Totally agree JK. I was so sad to hear of her death but in fairness you can't blame the Aussie DJs. I think they were genuinely amazed that their call went through and certainly meant no malice.
I too despair at how twisted our priorities and morals have become, along with the fear of how we are perceived by others. My niece is a nurse and my brother in law a doctor and like all of us have made mistakes. Naturally they have taken this badly, but they have got over it. We are human - and mistakes, like it or not, are part of our make up.
I suspect the poor nurse may have had other issues that caused her thinking to be distorted but it is so sad that we are so concerned at how others see us and the power this damn media has.

When a human being actually cares so much about falling for a media prank call that she kills herself?
Have we really reached the point where we are creating and developing people whose lives depend on public image?
Of course, stupid brain dead punters (the majority) will blame the DJs, the hospital, the Royals... "what an awful thing to do"... but the real question is - how have we allowed our species to get so worried by something so trivial, so unimportant?
I wonder if a nurse accidentally gave some patient the wrong drug and killed them, he or she would be so devastated as to commit suicide? Yet a bit of negative media...
