The Metropolitan Police commissioner has temporarily returned from his Christmas holiday to deal with concerns raised by the "plebgate" affair.
Scotland Yard said Bernard Hogan-Howe had concerns over the welfare of the officers involved in the row.

If ever there was a statement which showed just how out-of-touch these people are - then that is it !!!
No "concern" for the victim.
No "concern" for the generral public.
Just "concern" for his officers (who have been caught bang-to-rights !!!!) |

I heard something on the radio the other day .... Cameron is the first politician in 30 years who has dared to try and reform (reign in?) the police.
Ever since Thatcher's first act on becoming PM was to reqard the police with a massive pay rise (as she knew they would be needed later) all politician have shyied away from them and let them get away with virtually anything.
We scrapped the last ineffective watchdog for the Independent Police Complaints Commission - which is anything but independent. Its stuffed with ex-fuzz who reward their ex-bosses by "doing them a favour".
In the last couple of years, after pressure from above, police are starting to become accountable - but there is a very long way to go. Let's hope the new police commissioners do their job well. The "independence" of Chief Constables has seen a raft of wrong-doing across the country where locally elected politicians have had to virtually force the CC out. They have in many cases behaved like local warlords.
We have seen (over the Mitchell affair) a branch of the Police Federation (West Mids) actively campaign against an elected politician. The Hillsborough affair brings the greatest shame that the force has ever had.
Its time that the police realised they are public servants - not masters. |

ITK referred to police having, "damaged their reputation and trust".
For millions of young and old streetwise and gay Brits, that ongoing damage occurred at least 65 years ago.
With bent-Greater Manchester homophobe cops, bent-Ulster anti catholic cops, bent-West Midlands Serious Crime Squad, bent-Met Flying Squad, and bent Met Vice Squad - leading to 'The Fall of Scotland Yard' for starters.
Thousands of stitched-up Irish, Gays, Blacks, Asians, a Brazilian, a Pop Mogul, and a top politician later - it's all changed.
Now it's even worse! |
