hedda talk of the letter should have rung alarm bells...especially with 500 Quid Expert MWT...the police would never put something like that in writing.

My feeling :this was like a second bite of the cherry for the claimants , now that Savile was dead they felt like they could claim anything and the letter added spice, not realising that the Mail was desperate to see it...and then began offering money (which they seem to have paid) and thus...it magically materialised.

Hence on Anna Raccoon's site a regular contributor ( I think from Duncroft) claiming one lady is very regretful about the whole business which has spun right out of control.

And JK is correct....dealing with the media as MWT has..sometimes in very sloppy fashion...like a wild beast it often devours it's young.

## note the difference between those supporting Leveson type controls (which i think are perfectly reasonable) and those not : MWT has become a vocal opponent claiming it inhibits police.

really, he's all over the place on things...maybe thinks he is clever but is quite amateurish.

The forged letter - this is the massive, enormous, stinking elephant shitting in the room and I predict, soon, the ramifications of this pathetic attempt to strengthen a false allegation will bring the whole house of cards tumbling down.

Have I mixed my metaphors?

But seriously - who did it? Why would anyone do it? How could anyone not spot it? What motives are revealed by those who knew or suspected but chose to accept it?

And funnily enough, The Mail On Sunday may come out of this absolutely smelling of roses. We all know the Mail is the nastiest paper in Britain but it's also far and away the best. And when it is genuinely campaigning for the truth - even if it appears to conflict with "a great story" (exposing the fake Satanic Abuse claims for example) it is a magnificent example of the very best in media.

My suspicion is, she was offered a bit of money if she could provide this letter to the Daily Mail so they could write a story around it, she wanted the money, all she needed was the letter - so she faked it (just a guess )
Anonymous [b]hedda wrote:[/bquote]Jones was clearly wishing it all to be true (despite some misgivings)..desperately wanting it to be true and shifting 'burden of proof' upon MWT which is laughable considering MWT was ready to run with a forged letter.

Interesting as well how little MWT was paid..500 quid for his 'expert' advice. My how times have changed. 10 years ago it would have been 5 grand.

Which makes MWT quite a pathetic character as he will have Buckleys Chance of making a career out of pedo exposing so I guess he has to rely on giving lectures on "how to protect your child" but that career will have a limited shelf life as well.

Re : the forged letter- the report suggests she may have been "paid a brick load of money" to produce the forged letter which is clearly obtaining a pecuniary interest by deception but tabloids rarely dob someone in (they are often taken in my con-men and paid out big sums in the old days)...but she's involved the police.

Of course the forged letter may have been sent by someone else but she claimed other women had them (and they obviously denied it) ...I reckon that matter is yet to run it's course...doubt police will let that drop

And if MWT exagerates his past....true..it will unravel one day.[/quote]

I think, unless the Daily Mail made the whole thing up, it has to have been Fiona that faked it, or had it faked by someone (imo). Unless the Daily Mail made it up, they claim it was her that handed it too them and she claimed she was sent it in 2007 (which implies she was claiming to have had it since 2007), even if that was a miss print, a letter like that would probably have been sent around 2009 so anyone wanting to do a 'hoax' on her would have have to done it back then, Meirion Jones or anyone at Newsnight hadn't heard about the police investigation police until late 2011 it would seem and the letter, according to the Daily Mail, did contain the (false) statement she was claiming, that the Jimmy Savile wasn't charged because he was too old and infirm.

So unless one of the other women involved in the investigation sent her it as a 'hoax' or the Daily Mail just invented the story, I think Fiona is the prime culprit of that one...

£500 seems like a ridiculously low budget, it seems they weren't actually taking this 'investigation' seriously at all, I mean, what did they actually really find out...?

Very little...
Chris Retro It smacked of a media conspiracy from before the MWT Show was even aired - and there was nothing on that programme that rang true to me anyway, nothing but dubious allegations. Resorting to Gary Glitter on Clunk Click was the obvious sign there was no substance. It was obviously garbage, pure and simple.
That George Entwistle then felt to issue an immediate "apology" for those involved in this awful television programme over on ITV told me this was a conspiracy to pervert history and defame a dead man. I've not seen anything to change my mind - the question is why. And that runs deeper than BBC bashing, MWT filling his pockets or even Tabloid headlines.

Incidentally I really like the point (above) about MWT being considered a blackmailer if he hadn't been allowed to defend himself successfully in court. Isn't it ironic, as Alanis once sang.

Well by his and Meirion Jones's reasoning, he should be considered a 'blackmailer' now, whether he was acquitted or not, as it wouldn't have made it as far as that if their wasn't any truth in it... lol

That seemed to be their reasoning with the Jimmy Savile case making it as far as the CPS - i've heard that argument before, which made me wonder, well why bother with a trial, then if he's already to be considered 'guilty' by that stage...?

I don't know, lol...
