"I may well go and visit Sicily this year. It looks SO gorgeous."
The original casa di montalbano is a B&B nowadays.

It even has a big (and empty) natural swimming pool right in front of it. But beware of the dead bodies floating around. |

Thanks LO: yes I absolutely adore the silver haired judge in Spiral (also love the lead girl cop) and aren't you looking forward (PLEASE BBC4) to a couple of months of Salvo before we move into summer? The most feel good (Montalbano) series on global TV (I may well go and visit Sicily this year. It looks SO gorgeous).
I have a bit of a thing for Caroline Proust myself... ahem...
No air date published as yet for Series 9 of Montalbano. And if it hasn't aired in Italy yet it'll be a fair while before it makes it onto BBC4. As for Sicily looking "SO gorgeous" {the Karen Matthews accent doesn't suit you!} I'm sort of tempted to say "how would you know judging by watching "Il Commissario Montalbano"?". If I had one criticism of the entire series it would be that there only appear to be about 4 places on the whole island. Not that I could care less really, as the programme has always been more about people than places {I'm such a curmudgeon...}
This, however, gives at least a fillip. I quote some text from a BBC webpage:
"It has now been confirmed that BBC Four will show the prequel series, Young Montalbano. This allows viewers the opportunity to learn how both the private life and career of the Sicilian detective developed by giving an insight into his youth."

Personally, I like the idea. And that's a pretty believable "young Salvo". |

Not according to your friend and mine IMDB. The character Robin {surely one of the most engaging and quirky performances seen on TV for years {notwithstanding virtually the entire cast of Montalbano...}} is played by Philippe Duclos, who doesn't appear in the cast list of "Amour". That is... as long as I have the right "Amour" {plot synopsis "Georges and Anne are in their eighties. They are cultivated, retired music teachers. Their daughter, who is also a musician, lives abroad with her family. One day, Anne has an attack. The couple's bond of love is severely tested.", a Franco-German-Austrian producton dating from last year. Hope this helps. |

Is the male lead in Amour my favourite brilliant actor with silver hair the Judge in Spiral? |
