The Queen (a descendant of one of Richard's siblings) is now to be consulted, and seems likely to agree with her English and Catholic relatives - and so expedite the return of Richard of/to York, for royal burial.

With all the rites and ceremony that this involves, for an annointed and Catholic King.

Bear in mind, Richard - so far - has not had any proper burial: After battle, he was just ripped apart by his enemies and thrust down a hole.

.... perhaps they should have mentioned this about 600 years ago ?

Ben 9 The living blood-descendants of Richard of York (later Richard III) have now formally asked that he be buried in York, having grown up in the Dales nearby and a known visitor to the Minster.

Buried in Leicester (quickly and without any ceremony) only because his last battle was nearby, he had no connections with that city.

Undoubtedly, family wishes should prevail - and his 16/17th generation nieces/nephews should have their way and attend the formal internment of their regal relative, in York.

Leicester should now withdraw, with dignity - and close their premature gift shops, already adjacent to the car park where they eventually found the body after hundreds of years.
