giles2008 And then many years later Sian Phillips got a call from Rufus Wainwright to do the speech part on this track!!

And did some Shakespeare sonnets with her too!!

The Fat Controller Greatest TV drama ever produced in my book. All the performances were fantastic--John Hurt's Caligula scared the life out of me-- the dark psychotic eyes.
JK2006 I'm watching the old BBC series again (BBC4 Tuesdays 10pm; I'd forgotten Brian Blessed played Augustus - very well too).

It is so good. An incredible scene where Sian Phillips as Livia talks to the corpse of Augustus for several minutes as the camera stays on the dead man's face.
