Yes indeed Foz - I decided he'd earned a post and thread on our sadly dying MUSIC based Forum due to his loyal promotion of all music over the years. I first met him when appearing on Juke Box Jury in 1965/1966 - as a performer and/or panelist (or was that just on the revival - so hard to remember accurately, as we've seen in the Savile fiasco). I do hope false accusers don't decide to make millions now on the late David Jacobs.

Didnt see this before posting on the other board.
I religiously listened to his wonderfully old fashioned Sunday programme on R2 until he retired only last month. He appeared a thoroughly decent chap and I certainly will miss listening to him.

Very sad news for those of us who knew him and admired him on radio. He called me and asked for advice when his son Jeremy started at Charterhouse - and again when he was sadly killed very young in an accident. Very decent man and terrific broadcaster.
