Radio 4 does it for me. It's on for many of the hours I'm at home.
Quality, varied, informative programming... added to which, it turns into the World Service at night and so accompanies me in my many night time waking hours.

I agree with you JK.
I rarely listen to the radio these days as with the availability of my personal music collection almost always at hand now why would I want to tune in to hear a playlist of numerous songs I either don't like or am fed up with?
I think radio has now fallen into the category of 'background musik' for most and as such has lost its prestige and certainly its ability to influence but then the music industry as a whole is fast going the same way, sadly.

I was about to write that I'd expect more people to be getting their fill on Youtube when I read, "At a time when we've just become the first radio station in the world to reach one million subscribers on YouTube".
So are they counting that as radio listeners?

I was under the impression that far fewer people listen to radio these days; these figures tell me I'm wrong.
Perhaps it's just that it is more wallpaper; less engagement?
Anybody else have thoughts on this?
