Mike Nesmith is very underrated most people only know him for his green hat, which is now lost apparently.
One Direction are just the same as any other manufactured band; that has been put together by a producer.
Charity singles I do not believe that all proceeds go to charity, CIN costs money to run.

Well they were thrown together by Simon, no chemistry whatsoever they remind me of The Monkees in their early years.
At least The Monkees were funny, but One Direction are just One Dimension!
