And we used to get 9 million for Record of the Year on ITV - and 9 million for Entertainment USA on BBC2. And almost 6 million a week for No Limits on BBC2 at 6pm.

From Music Week:
The BBC has praised the "annual fixture" of last night's Music Awards, as new figures show it pulled in a TV audience of 3.9 million people.
That is slightly less than the BRIT Awards attracted in February, which was the lowest TV figure since 2006 at 4.2 million.

I think it will need a bit of programming imagination to get Top of the Pops back Dixie, especially as everyone on it will be guaranteed years in jail, thirty years later.
The Awards Show was a huge success. Fingers crossed for decent ratings. Far better than The Brits and a much better time of year for a high profile prime time show. Bet it boosts music sales over Christmas by millions as our ROTY shows did.

I haven't managed to see the show yet, but by all accounts a good effort. Anyone know the viewing figures yet?
Could this be a foundation for a campaign for BBC to bring back a regular music show on peak-time BBC1?

Well to me a spectacular success. Well done Guy Freeman and the team.
