thanks for the input guys...if it sounds remotely "fun" to you, then I've succeeded with this one...rough, ready and in yer face suitable for the genre and audience.
That said, I do think another set of ears at the mastering stage is desirable just to give things a bit more edge. |

Not my fave of yours either. The drums are quite far back and sound like a machine on one pattern. I'd have tuned the vocals around the second and alternate lines at the start of the song as it does grate a
little, but I don't feel a "perfect" vocal would suit you, your sound is a bit too raw for that.
It's quite fun though. |

I am totally happy with your opinions Zoo, particularly as you have mentioned other tracks which I have done, so cheers for that, it shows you are listening!
"Screaming" seemed to write itself, but I can`t put my finger on where it was coming from either. When a song comes that easy to me, I find I back-check myself so much to see where I found it from.
Ideas on a postcard to..... |

I want to like this Martin... but... (didn't you know it )
Wake Up Screaming is sailing close to a cover, can't put my finger on the track but it's really ringing bells.
I lke the production ideas but the overall thing is a bit dull and flat - no top end. Frankly I think you are still looking for that sound that suits it.
Much prefered Sabrinesque and Take a minute - the quality of the recording over screaming stands out immediately. |

I demo`d this song a while back, and could never get a sound that suited it, I sent it to regular boarder and producer Big End, who put the whole thing together with a band from up in his neck of the woods, a full 400 miles from my house, and they came up with this version, which has turned what would have been a rather sad song into a joyous and fun story of philandering.

I thought the girls were fab, it was interesting to not have my own girl`s local accents on the backing vocals, and fascinating to not know what was being done to my song, by people I had not met yet.
There is a film of the event as well, which will follow. |
