Artie Fufkin "The greatest British pop producer you've never heard of"??? Maybe if you're a teenager, but then most of them have probably not heard of George Martin, either. Tarney was namechecked on a regular basis during the 1980s, he was probably one of the most high profile song writers and producers in the country thanks to his hits at the time. From about the arrival of 'We Don't Talk Any More' to 'Some People' that distinctive sound was instantly recognisable. Crap journalism from the Guardian as usual.
JK2006 Interesting. Thanks for posting this. One of Steve Levine's crusades has been trying to get the BBC to let him do a Record Producers show on JK but he's not really encouraged to mention my name.
